What Are You Tolerating?
You may be unaware of this silent energy drain in your business.
My client, let’s call her Amanda, was full of complaints about her business at our last coaching session and here’s why …
She was frustrated because her newsletter went out late (again), her clients were having a hard time rebooking appointments, and her website was full of broken links.
Through our coaching together, Amanda discovered how much she was tolerating her assistant’s lacklustre performance, and how much it was draining her energy, time and finances.
This made me curious about you and your business.
My question is this:
What are you tolerating in your business?
It could be …
=> Settling for something that isn’t what you truly want or expect.
=> Putting up with situations, behaviours or outcomes even though they annoy you.
=> Catching yourself saying … “It is what it is.”
All of these things leave you feeling dragged down, frustrated and powerless.
Annoyances take a toll by silently draining your energy, creativity, focus and passion for your work. Tolerating is a bandage fix to a deeper issue.
You may not realize just how prevalent these annoyances are in your business (and life). Once you become aware of them, they’ll show up everywhere.
You have the power to eliminate these annoyances
The good news is it’s within you to make the annoyances vanish by asking yourself these three questions:
=> What are my top complaints when it comes to my business?
=> What’s the root cause of each complaint?
=> How can I make these annoyances go away?
Your answers will help you become aware of what you are tolerating, identify the cause of the annoyance and discover how to remove it completely so it doesn’t reappear.
Once you stop tolerating you’ll feel your energy shift, your focus return and your creativity soar.
Incredible things happen when you move beyond the annoyances in your business.
You may find …
=> You feel calmer, happier, peaceful and more grounded.
=> You are focused and able to complete your important work faster.
=> Your relationships inside and outside of work change for the better.
For Amanda, she gave herself permission to part ways with this assistant, and invested in someone who was capable to perform the tasks Amanda wanted in a timely and efficient manner.
You deserve more than having a business full of annoyances.
Start by creating a list of all the annoyances that are showing up for you. Next to each, brainstorm ideas for removing them once and for all. This is a powerful exercise we do inside our signature program, The SkyHigh Collective.
It’s incredible how we make the invisible annoyances visible, and support each other as we push past them.
Turning away from toleration isn’t always easy. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people who understand what you’re going through is key.
