Why Quiet Quitting Is Good For Your Business
Whichever side of the fence you’re on, the idea of Quiet Quitting shines a light on how you show up in your business.
“I’m fed up with my business. I’m tired of working all the time!!”
I often hear this when I speak with business owners who want to work with me.
They’re overscheduled, overworked and overwhelmed. They’re looking for a better way of doing business.
These feelings aren’t far off from corporate employees who stand up for their wellbeing by setting boundaries between work and life.
If you’ve missed (or purposely tuned out) the conversation around Quiet Quitting, here’s my take on it …
Quiet Quitting is a term that describes the act of standing up for your personal wellbeing by doing only what you’re compensated for at work and not going above and beyond.
While the alliteration is clever, the premise behind it isn’t far off from what happens to many business owners, just like us.
This is especially true for entrepreneurs who have unintentionally created a J.O.B. for themselves instead of a business that allows them to do the work that lights them up and makes an impact..
I invite you to consider if the idea of quiet quitting may be right for you.
Are you ready to break the DIY habit and draw a line around what you will and won’t do in your business? Are you ready to define how you’ll show up in your role as a leader and stick to it? Are you ready to rethink the way you work?
I left corporate more than 20 years ago, choosing to create a business (and work in it) on my terms.
Most days, I’m fired up and motivated to do the work I love.
Other days, when boundaries are broken, and I slip into the daily grind, I feel the urge to quit. And that’s a good thing.
That’s when I know it’s time to quit …
Working 24/7.
Doing all-the-things.
Hiding in the busywork.
What we entrepreneurs have in common with the employees who embrace quiet quitting is this ..
It’s time to rethink the way we work. To find a more purposeful way of running your business and living your life.
Creating more joy and impact with every minute of your day is the cornerstone of building a successful, thriving, and fulfilling business.
What actions, thoughts, or beliefs will you quietly quit to make that happen?
